Primary School Philosophy

Our purpose is to educate children so that they will achieve the fullest development of their intellectual, social, and creative capabilities and will be equipped to go confidently into the upper grades. Qualities we would want a child to acquire include self-esteem, self-discipline, a capacity for wise choice, and a caring for the needs of others. To these ends, the school emphasizes equally a strong academic program and an enriching human environment.

We select and retain as teachers individuals who care about children and are knowledgeable in their subjects, motivating in the classroom and growing as professionals. The individual teacher is given freedom, responsibility, and encouragement to select among the educational methods that best achieve the school’s objectives and best maintain the continuity of the program.
